This event will showcase artwork created by the “neighbors” (aka residents) of Hubbard Hill and children (Ages 2-5) at the Early Learning Center. The Early Learning Center has been championing an intergenerational model of learning for the last 5 years. Weekly, the children at the ELC walk up to Hubbard Hill for “art club” -- during this 30-minute art session, children and neighbors create art together. Miss Olivia Waltz (Art Teacher) explains basic art principles like blending cool and warm tones while pairing sacred practices (engaging wonder, learning from one generation to another, etc.).
This gallery show will be held at Bethel University – both children and neighbors will be in attendance, and it is a free event to the community.
This event showcases the nurturing of childhood faith through lenses of wonder, intergenerational wisdom, play, and the act of making with our hearts and minds through fine art. There will also be an opportunity to collaborate on a piece of artwork.
